    This is the home of the Webtop Personal Information Management System.

    The Webtop is a web-based email system that you run on your own computer or server. It comes with an integrated calendar, notepad, online file storage, reminders, contacts list, and web-based administration. By running your own web-based email system on your own system, you get all of the freedom and accessibility of Hotmail or Yahoo mail but none of the disk space limitations or privacy and security concerns!     WEBTOP 2.03 HAS BEEN RELEASED!

    With this release, we have focused on updating the user interface with new professional design as well as adding full support for the Mozilla web browser. There have also been several new features added, bugs fixed, and design enhancements made (see the change log for a complete list of updates). The online demo has been disabled due to excessive abuse.


    Fast webmail access
    The Webtop is a Java servlet application which provides a much faster and more scalable solution to your webmail needs than other products which are based on older Perl CGI technology. The Webtop also has the ability of sending compressed HTML to your browser resulting in faster response times for slower internet connections.

    Secure connectivity
    The Webtop has an embedded web server with built-in support for SSL connectivity. This means that all of the internet traffic to and from the Webtop is encrypted. If you don't need the embedded web server, the Webtop can be configured to work with any third-party web server and servlet engine.

    Feature rich
    In addition to email, the Webtop includes a calendar, notepad, file storage, automated email reminders, a contact management system, and a complete web-based administration system. You can find the complete list of features on the features page.

    Easy installation
    The Webtop includes an embedded web server, servlet engine, and relational database for easy installation - all you need to install is Java! A complete web-based installation procedure is included as well as extensive documentation detailing this procedure. If you do not want to use the embedded servers, the Webtop can be configured to work with any other web server, servlet engine, or database.
